“Biotechnology, Agronomy, Society and Environment” publish original items, notes of search, items of synthesis, summaries of books and theses as well as reports of conferences in the fields of sciences and vegetable and animal productions, of forest sciences, sciences of the ground and the ground, the agricultural engineering, the environment, the , agroalimentary, sociology and the economy.

Published by the agronomic Presses of Gembloux, it is placed under the scientific authority of the university Faculty of agronomic Sciences of Gembloux () and of the Walloon Center of Agronomic research (). The review disseminates work of researchers of , the CRA and the Research center of Nature, the Forests and Wood ().

The authors external at the community are invited to produce their reflections and results relating to the above mentioned fields. The texts are published in French or in English and the summaries will be written in the two languages, possibly in a third language. The basic items are included in main international data bases: , Abstracts, , , Abstracts, off Open Access (), Supplements, , Journal Quotation Transfer, PASCAL, Web off Science and Record.

BASIS is quarterly, and appears in March, June, September and December.
Volume 1 corresponds to 1997.

The review is associate member of the Science magazines and cultural () and is also accessible on the Gate from Publication of scientific Periodicals (Pops-up).
