Catalogs

The catalog of the Library is computerized with the management software of library 500 (of society ). It is integrated into the catalog of the libraries of (Source) with which it constitutes the catalog of the university Academy Wallonia-Europe. The unit is divided into several logical catalogs (by institution or type of document) consultable individually.

Available in French and English, the web-based interface proposes three modes of search (simple, advanced, expert). Very many indices (bonds, authors, subjects, etc) and a powerful query language (Boolean operators, of proximity, wildcard characters) make it possible to find the documents located in the whole of the libraries of and to reach the electronic resources, like the periodicals in line whose notes contain the states of precise collection. The use of the logical catalogs makes it possible to extend search to the documents preserved in the libraries of .

Catalogued in the format MARC 21, the bibliographical references of the books, periodicals, theses, memories, etc are in particular indexed by descriptors resulting from the thesaurus (of FAO) and by matters resulting from “ Codes” from the Agricultural National , the USA ().

The web-based interface offers multiple possibilities of display, sorting, of selection of the notes, data backup (on disc or e-maileds) in the most used formats (quotation, LAUGHED - -, , MARC 21, etc). Each note is accompanied by a link towards the system of and is enriched by links (so available) towards the image by the hedging, the contents and the summary of the document (via Solutions). The module of aid and is accessible starting from each screen.
